How We Score AI Readiness
The AI Search Visibility GEO Score is a 0–10 rating calculated by 6 specialized AI agents that evaluate how likely AI systems (ChatGPT, Google AI Overviews, Perplexity, Claude) are to cite a webpage. Each agent analyzes a different dimension — Indexability, Snippet & CTR, Intent & Value, Trust & E-E-A-T, Schema, and AI Citeability — plus a Red Team layer that stress-tests the results.

The Core Question
"Can AI understand, trust, and safely cite this page?"
How the Audit Works
Page Fetch
We crawl the URL and extract HTML, metadata, and structured data
6 Branch Agents
Each agent evaluates its dimension independently in parallel
Red Team
A separate agent stress-tests results and flags missed risks
Score Merge
Weighted scores are combined into a single 0–10 GEO Score

The 6 Audit Branches
Each branch runs independently with its own AI agent. Branch scores are weighted and merged into the final GEO Score.
Indexability
Can AI crawlers access and parse your page?
Snippet & CTR
Will your page get clicked when shown in AI results?
Intent & Value
Does the content answer what users are actually asking?
Trust & E-E-A-T
Should AI trust this source enough to cite it?
Schema
Is structured data present for AI extraction?
AI Citeability
Can AI extract quotable, accurate information?
Red Team Risk Layer
Red Team Agent
Adversarial stress-testing of audit results
After the 6 branch agents produce their scores, a separate Red Team agent reviews all findings and checks for:
Issue Severity & Effort
Every issue found by the audit is classified by severity and comes with an effort estimate for fixing it.
Severity Levels
| Level | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Blocker | Prevents AI citation entirely |
| High | Significantly reduces citation likelihood |
| Medium | Reduces quality of potential citations |
| Low | Minor improvement opportunity |
Effort Estimates
| Effort | Time |
|---|---|
| XS | Under 5 minutes (copy-paste fix) |
| S | 5–30 minutes (quick edit) |
| M | 30 min – 2 hours (content rewrite) |
| L | 2+ hours (structural change) |
Score Interpretation
The overall GEO Score is a weighted average of the 6 branch scores on a 0–10 scale.
| Range | Label | What It Means |
|---|---|---|
| 8.0 – 10.0 | Good | AI can safely cite. Few or no issues. |
| 5.0 – 7.9 | Needs Work | Fixable gaps blocking full AI readiness. |
| 0.0 – 4.9 | Critical | Significant blockers. Page is not AI-ready. |
Confidence Score
Each branch reports a confidence level between 0 and 1. The overall confidence is the weighted average across all branches.
0.8 – 1.0
High confidence — score is reliable
0.5 – 0.79
Some checks couldn't be verified
Below 0.5
Re-audit recommended
Low confidence can occur when pages rely heavily on JavaScript rendering, have access restrictions, or contain content our agents couldn't fully parse.
What You Get in a Report
Overall GEO Score (0–10)
Weighted average with pass/needs fix/partial status and confidence level.
Branch Breakdown
Individual scores for each of the 6 audit dimensions.
Top Fixes (Prioritized)
Ranked by impact with effort estimates (XS/S/M/L) and copy-ready recommendations.
Issues & Evidence
Every issue includes severity, evidence snippets, CSS selectors, and specific recommendations.
Strengths
What your page already does well, with evidence from each branch.
Red Team Risks
YMYL flags, missed blockers, and trust concerns from adversarial review.
Example Issue
Evidence:
selector: body > main > section:first-child > p
"Welcome to the future of productivity. Our revolutionary platform leverages cutting-edge AI..."
Impact:
AI cannot categorize your product, determine what it does, or generate an accurate citation.
Recommendation:
Replace the opening paragraph with: "[YourProduct] is a [category] that [action] for [audience]. [Pricing]. [Social proof]."The First 50 Words Rule
AI systems decide whether to cite you in the first 50 words. This is where your page wins or loses.
The Formula:
[Product] is a [category] that [action] for [audience]. [Pricing]. [Social proof]."Notion is a productivity tool that combines notes, docs, and databases for teams. Free for personal use, $8/user/month for teams. Used by 30M+ people."
"Welcome to the future of productivity. Our revolutionary platform leverages cutting-edge AI to transform how you work."
What We Don't Measure
We focus on AI citation signals, not traditional SEO. AI doesn't check backlinks or domain authority before citing — it checks content clarity.
| We Don't Measure | Why Not |
|---|---|
| Backlinks / Domain Authority | AI doesn't check link profiles before citing |
| Page speed / Core Web Vitals | Slow pages can still be quoted |
| Traffic / Engagement | Low-traffic pages with clear answers get cited |
| Social signals | Shares don't affect AI retrieval |
| Keyword rankings | Ranking #1 doesn't guarantee AI citation |
Why Results May Vary
Your GEO Score measures page structure, not AI behavior. Actual citations depend on factors beyond your control:
- Query context: Same page may be cited for some queries, not others.
- AI platform: ChatGPT, Claude, Perplexity have different retrieval systems.
- Competition: Other high-quality sources may be preferred.
- Model updates: AI systems change continuously.
We measure what you control. We cannot guarantee citations.
Anti-Gaming Policy
We don't reward tactics that would cause AI to distrust your source:
- FAQ stuffing (50 questions with no real answers)
- Fake statistics ("10 million users" with no source)
- Invisible text or hidden content
- Duplicate content across pages
Our scoring penalizes patterns that would cause AI to distrust the source.

Frequently Asked Questions
SEO optimizes for search rankings. GEO optimizes for AI citations. A page can rank #1 on Google but be ignored by ChatGPT if it lacks clear definitions and trust signals. Our 6-branch audit focuses on content clarity, extractability, and structured data — not backlinks or domain authority.
8.0+ out of 10 is excellent — AI can safely cite your page. 5.0–7.9 means there are fixable gaps. Below 5.0, you have significant blockers preventing AI systems from understanding and citing your content.
After major content changes, or quarterly for key pages. AI systems evolve, and your content should be regularly checked to ensure it remains citable.
Yes. You can specify a page type (blog, landing, docs, pricing, feature, comparison, template, tool) and the audit adapts its expectations accordingly. For example, a pricing page is checked for visible pricing data, while a blog post is checked for author attribution and publication date.
Indexability (crawlability & HTML structure), Snippet & CTR (meta tags & click-worthy signals), Intent & Value (content depth & query matching), Trust & E-E-A-T (authorship & credibility), Schema (structured data & JSON-LD), and AI Citeability (quotable sentences & definition quality).
After the 6 branch agents score your page, a separate Red Team agent stress-tests the results. It checks for YMYL (Your Money Your Life) concerns, identifies risks the branch agents may have missed, and flags issues that could cause AI systems to distrust your content.
Each branch reports a confidence level (0–1). If the agent couldn't verify certain checks (e.g., JavaScript-rendered content it couldn't parse), confidence is capped. Low confidence means the score may be inaccurate and a re-audit is recommended.
No. We measure what you control: page structure, clarity, and trust signals. Actual citations depend on query context, AI platform, competition, and model updates. A high GEO score means your page is optimized for citation — not that citation is guaranteed.
